What to expect from VellumWorks Weekly?

You’re receiving this because, at some point, you showed interest in what we’re building at VellumWorks — a mission-led initiative dedicated to creating free, open digital tools for those making a difference. Whether you signed up through one of our platforms, joined a project, or simply followed our progress, we’re glad you’re here.

VellumWorks exists to support charities, grassroots organisations, and underserved communities by developing systems that remove digital barriers — from SEO tools for nonprofits to volunteer management platforms and language preservation projects. This weekly update is our way of keeping you in the loop as we build, iterate, and move the mission forward.

Here’s what we’ve been focused on this week:

– We are growing and improving our volunteers page and our websites to grow each page. As we grow towards more volunteers, the organisation will grow and help even more people.
– Our SEO services for charities are now available through VellumSEO.com — if you or a charity you know could benefit from free, hands-on support to improve visibility and reach, have a look.
– We’ve also been working on the behind-the-scenes to legally start and support the charity. Once we figure this out, we will include grants and even more so more people get help.

We’ve started building the next version of your Volunteers dashboard. This is the place where you can go through the process of becoming and maintaining yourself as a volunteer.

You start on our website and create a self-explanatory login to our system that enables you to add all the information you need to. It will also include your login details, communication channels with the teams, and how you can track each element your volunteering roles.

At the start, you will be able to sign up to volunteer with us, then through the different stages, we will announce the launch of the volunteer system. However, be patient with us - there is lots coming.

Recently, we published a Medium article that explained exactly why we started a charity to help others. If you’re wondering why you, as a reader or you as a charity, should care about the work that we’re doing, this article will explain exactly that.
