Our Latest Tools & Sharing Our Mission
Understand how we've improved our tools and sharing our mission even further
Welcome to the very first issue of VellumWorks Weekly — a short, honest update on what we’re building, why it matters, and how it can support your work.
Each week, we’ll share progress from across our tools and projects; along with stories, resources, and ideas to help charities and communities thrive.
What to expect from VellumWorks Weekly?
You’re receiving this because, at some point, you expressed interest in what we’re building at VellumWorks — a mission-led initiative dedicated to creating free, open digital tools for those making a positive impact. Whether you signed up through one of our platforms, joined a project, or followed our progress, we’re glad you’re here.
VellumWorks exists to support charities, grassroots organisations, and underserved communities by developing systems that remove digital barriers — from SEO tools for nonprofits to volunteer management platforms and language preservation projects.

Here’s what we’ve been focused on this week:
– For VellumSEO and our future tools, when resetting your password, you will now get logged out. We’ve made this change for security reasons to ensure that your password works and gets encrypted properly when you sign in.
– Our SEO services for charities are now available through VellumSEO.com. We’ve also build more tools and security into our systems. This also includes ensuring everything stays connected with your analytics and search console integrations.
– We’ve been updating the homepage for VellumCMS, although this isn’t public yet. There are a lot of tweaks to be done, but it’ll be exciting when it gets launched.
Thanks for following along — we’ve got even more in the pipeline for next week.

Over 40% of small charities say they’ve lost out on donations due to poor online visibility. That’s a silent crisis hiding in plain sight.

This week, we’ve been focused on VellumCMS — our ethical, zero-cost content management system built for charities.
We’ve refined how we communicate what VellumCMS stands for: not just a CMS, but a mission-aligned platform for charities and community organisations. From designing a creative, values-first landing page to writing a transparent-but-ethically-restricted license, everything we’ve done this week has been about trust, clarity, and purpose.
We’re also opening up the codebase for review — not for reuse, but to show that VellumCMS is built with care, and nothing is hidden behind closed walls. It’s about transparency, not hype.

Recently, we published a Medium article that explained exactly why we started a charity to help others. If you’re wondering why you, as a reader or you as a charity, should care about the work that we’re doing, this article will explain exactly that.
It’s more than a story about starting a charity — it’s about rethinking how digital tools are built, who they’re built for, and why so many small organisations are left behind. If you've ever felt that resources are out of reach or that your impact is limited by a lack of support, this piece is for you. It outlines the values behind VellumWorks and the urgent need for accessible, mission-aligned tech in the nonprofit world.
That’s all for this week — thank you for taking a moment to stay connected.
We know your time and energy are focused on doing good in the world, and we aim to support that work however we can. If something we’re building could help your charity — or if you just want to share an idea — don’t hesitate to reach out.
Until next week,
Alex
